Garth’s Guard Crab [Trapezia garthi]
Description
Trapezia garthi is a reef crab that typically lives in close partnership with stony corals, using its position to help defend the coral from potential threats. Underwater, divers may see it tucked along coral surfaces, sometimes moving in short bursts when the reef is disturbed. Look for it on coral heads and branching structures where it blends into the busy reef texture.
