Cryptophialus coronophorus [Cryptophialus coronophorus]
Description
Divers may spot this tiny deep-water hydroid-like animal as a small, delicate structure clinging to hard substrates. It often looks like a miniature, tufted or crown-like growth, blending into the surrounding rock or reef surfaces. Because it’s small and easily overlooked, it’s usually found during close-up searching along crevices and shaded areas.
