Crust Coral [Leptastrea inaequalis]
Description
Divers often notice this crust coral as a low, spreading patch that clings tightly to rock or reef surfaces. Its surface can look subtly bumpy or uneven, and in good light it may show a mix of muted colors that blend with the surrounding substrate. Because it grows as a thin sheet, it’s especially easy to spot along reef walls and overhangs.
