Coral Crayfish [Panulirus ornatus]
Description
Coral crayfish are bold, antennaed crustaceans that often shelter in reef crevices and under ledges. Divers may spot them slowly emerging at dusk or when the area is calm, using their powerful claws to defend their space. Their striking patterning makes them stand out against coral rubble and branching reef.
