Common Guard Crab [Trapezia intermedia]
Description
You’ll often spot this small crab perched on the branches of a coral, where it acts like a vigilant bodyguard. Divers may notice it quickly scuttling into crevices or raising its posture when fish or other intruders come too close. Its close association with coral makes it a fun “spot-and-watch” species during reef dives.
