Cerianthus japonicus [Cerianthus japonicus]
Description
Often found in sandy or muddy areas, this cylinder anemone anchors itself with a tube that helps protect it from disturbance. Divers can sometimes see the tentacles extend outward like a colorful fringe, then retract quickly if the bottom is disturbed.
