Carpet Shark [Orectolobus maculatus]

Carpet Shark
Description

With its mottled, carpet-like pattern, this shark blends beautifully into reef and rocky habitats. Divers typically notice it lying low and still, sometimes partially covered by sand, then slowly shifting as it patrols or searches for prey.
