Brevinaris shrimp [Periclimenes brevinaris]
Description
This small shrimp is typically encountered in reef or rocky habitats, where it uses crevices and sheltered spots to stay protected. Divers might spot it by scanning for subtle movement along the seafloor or around reef structure. Once you notice it, you’ll often see it shift position in short bursts, then settle again in a well-camouflaged hiding spot.
