Black-blotched Porcupinefish [Diodon liturosus]
Description
This porcupinefish features bold dark blotches that contrast sharply against its lighter body, giving it a striking, patterned appearance. Like other porcupinefish, it can inflate dramatically when it feels threatened, turning its spines into a more effective defense. Divers may see it hovering close to reef edges or foraging along the bottom for food.
