Bischofsmützenseeigel [Tripneustes gratilla]

Bischofsmützenseeigel
Description

Often encountered on reef slopes and seagrass edges, this sea urchin can appear as a rounded, spiny “hedgehog” with a surprisingly tidy look. Divers may notice it grazing steadily, using its mouthparts to scrape algae from surfaces as it moves along the reef.
