Belknap’s chiton [Belknapchiton belknapi]

Belknap’s chiton
Description

Belknap’s chiton is a small-to-medium chiton that divers may spot on algae-covered rocks. Its plated shell and strong grip make it a classic “reef grazer” look-alike—stationary at first, but clearly alive when you get close enough to see subtle movement.
