Astrostole platei [Astrostole platei]
Description
This starfish is typically seen resting on reef or rocky habitats, where its shape and surface texture help it blend with the environment. Divers may notice it during a slow swim over the bottom, especially when it’s positioned on uneven rock. Approached gently, it can reveal a more active posture as it responds to the surrounding current.
