American Tube-dwelling Anemone [Ceriantheopsis americana]
Description
Divers may spot this tube-dwelling anemone as a subtle “burrow” in sand or soft sediment, with a feathery crown emerging from the opening. When it’s relaxed, the tentacles look like delicate strands waving in the current; when disturbed, it can retract quickly into its tube.
