Aglaophenia indica [Aglaophenia indica]
Description
Divers may spot this species as a slender, tree-like hydroid colony that grows from a firm base on hard substrates. Its branches carry many small polyps, giving the colony a slightly textured, feathery look. When water flow increases, the polyps can appear more active, making the colony seem to “wake up” in the current.
