Aglaophenia inconspicua [Aglaophenia inconspicua]
Description
This hydroid forms delicate, branching colonies that can look surprisingly subtle against rocks, pilings, or seaweed. Underwater, divers often notice it as fine, feathery “lacy” growth with tiny polyps that can look like small dots along the branches. It’s a great example of how much life can be hiding in plain sight in calmer, sheltered habitats.
