Aglaophenia dispar [Aglaophenia dispar]
Description
Aglaophenia dispar forms branching hydroid colonies that can range from subtle to striking depending on lighting and water flow. Divers often encounter it on vertical surfaces, where currents help deliver plankton for the polyps to capture. Up close, the colony’s fine detail makes it a great subject for macro-focused diving.
