Aglaophenia coarctata [Aglaophenia coarctata]

Description

Aglaophenia coarctata typically presents as compact, branching colonies that cling to hard substrates like rocks or man-made structures. Divers may find it by scanning for fine, twiggy growth with tiny polyps along the branches. When currents pass, the colony’s delicate form and polyp “points” can become especially apparent.
