African Pillow Coral [Siderastrea savignyana]
Description
African Pillow Coral grows in thick, cushion-like lumps that resemble stacked pillows across the reef. Divers may spot its textured surface and the way it can create a “pillow garden” effect in shallow areas. Small fish and invertebrates frequently use the coral’s crevices for cover.
