Speckled Epaulette Shark [Hemiscyllium trispeculare]

Speckled Epaulette Shark
Description

The Speckled Epaulette Shark is a species of longtailed carpet shark, family Hemiscylliidae, native to the northern coast of Australia. It is a small, slender shark typically measuring less than 1 m (3.3 ft) in length. Its common name is derived from the distinctive pattern of dark spots scattered over its body. Just like its cousin, the Epaulette Shark, it can survive in low oxygen conditions and is known to 'walk' using its pectoral fins.
