Lettuce Sea Slug [Elysia crispata]
Description
This striking sea slug looks like a frilly leaf, with broad, ruffled edges that sway in the current. Divers often notice its pale green to yellow-green coloration, which helps it blend with algae-covered rocks. Like other Elysia, it’s famous for its ability to “borrow” energy from the photosynthetic food it eats.
