Common Torpedo [Torpedo torpedo]
Description
Often seen resting on sandy or muddy bottoms, the Common Torpedo looks like a smooth, torpedo-shaped ray with a low profile. Divers may notice it “breathing” through subtle movements as it stays partially buried, then slowly glides away with a gentle, wave-like propulsion.
