Anemone Hermit Crab [Dardanus pedunculatus]
Description
Divers often spot this hermit crab carrying a small anemone on its shell, creating a striking “living house” look. The crab’s movements can gently sway the anemone, and you may see the tentacles open and close as it feeds or responds to the water flow. It’s a great example of a close partnership between crustaceans and anemones.
