Giant Grouper [Epinephelus lanceolatus]

Giant Grouper
Description

The Giant Grouper is an impressive, bulky predator that can look almost prehistoric as it glides along reef walls. Divers often encounter it near caves or ledges, where it holds position for long stretches before making a slow, deliberate approach—sometimes accompanied by smaller fish keeping a respectful distance.
