Pteraster obesus [Pteraster obesus]
Description
As its name suggests, this cushion star tends to look especially “plump,” with a thick, cushion-like body and short, sturdy arms. Divers often find it on hard substrates, where its heavy texture and subdued tones make it easy to overlook until you’re close.
