Aglaophenia picardi [Aglaophenia picardi]
Description
This hydroid forms branching, lace-like colonies that can resemble tiny sea fans or delicate shrubs. In clear water, divers often notice the colony’s fine structure and how it subtly waves with the flow. Look closely along the branches—small polyps can give the colony a textured, “fuzzy” look.
