Aglaophenia decumbens [Aglaophenia decumbens]
Description
Divers often spot this hydroid as delicate, branching colonies that cling to rocks, pilings, or other hard surfaces. In good light, the fine “feather-like” structure can look almost lacey, with tiny polyps that may retract when disturbed. It’s a small but charming sign of a thriving, living reef community.
