Millepora nodulosa [Millepora nodulosa]
Description
As the name suggests, this fire coral tends to form nodules or rounded bumps that give the reef a bumpy, “pitted” texture. Divers may see small, clustered protrusions with tiny openings on the surface, creating a distinctive pattern. It’s a striking micro-habitat for reef life, but it can sting on contact, so it’s best to observe without touching.
