Rounded Bubblegum Coral [Plerogyra discus]
Description
Plerogyra discus forms a compact, dome-shaped colony that can resemble a soft, rounded mound on the reef. Underwater, the individual inflated polyps create a distinctive, bubble-studded surface that catches light as you move. Divers may also notice it swaying gently with currents, especially in areas with steady water flow.
