Crust Coral [Leptastrea transversa]

Crust Coral
Description

This species forms a spreading crust that can cover patches of reef rock, often with a distinct, patterned texture. Divers may observe small surface features that look like tightly packed bumps or ridges, giving it a “stippled” look. It’s commonly encountered on stable substrates where currents bring food particles within reach.
