Branched Disc Coral [Duncanopsammia axifuga]
Description
This coral typically appears as a low, disc-like base with branching forms that rise from it, giving it a distinctive “spreading” look. Divers may notice polyps that can extend slightly, creating a lively texture as the coral responds to water movement. It’s often found on hard substrates where it can quietly blend in until you get close.
