Common Goose Barnacle [Lepas (Lepas) anatifera]
Description
Divers may spot this goose barnacle as a small, stalked shell attached to floating objects or drifting surfaces. When water moves, the barnacle’s feathery feeding appendages extend out to capture plankton, creating a subtle “waving” look in the current.
