Scarred Nylon Shrimp [Heterocarpus tricarinatus]
Description
With a slightly more rugged look than many of its relatives, this nylon shrimp can be surprisingly hard to notice until it moves. Divers commonly see it tucked close to structure—rocky ledges or coarse substrate—where it picks at food particles and retreats into the background when approached.
