Cryptophialus unguiculus [Cryptophialus unguiculus]
Description
Small, delicate hydroid-like colonial animals that divers often notice only when they’re close to the substrate. Under good light, their tiny, branching forms can look like miniature “fingers” or feathery tufts attached to rocks or other hard surfaces. They’re easy to overlook, but rewarding to spot on calm dives.
