Cryptophialus epacrus [Cryptophialus epacrus]
Description
This species is typically encountered as a subtle, low-profile colony on rocks or other hard surfaces. Under good light, divers can notice its fine, intricate form—more like a delicate cluster than a “big” animal. It’s a great example of how much life hides in the small spaces of the seafloor.
