Phyllopteryx [Phyllopteryx]
Description
Divers may spot these camouflaged fish—often called leaf scorpionfish—hovering close to rocky bottoms and seagrass. Their leaflike fins and mottled colors help them blend into the seafloor, and they tend to stay still until something draws their attention.
