Laticauda [Laticauda]
Description
Sea kraits of the genus Laticauda are distinctive, banded sea snakes that spend much of their time near shorelines and reef edges. Underwater, divers might see them gliding calmly through shallow water, often hunting for small fish and eels. If you’re lucky, you may also notice their frequent trips to the surface to breathe, followed by quick returns to the reef.
