Sea Snakes [Squamata]
Description
Sea snakes are sleek, highly adapted reptiles that spend their lives in the ocean, often hunting near reefs and seagrass beds. Divers may see them swimming gracefully just above the bottom or peeking from crevices, usually with calm, deliberate movements. Many species are venomous, so divers should admire them from a distance and never attempt to handle them.
