Favites [Gardineroseris]
Description
Favites-type corals (often grouped under Gardineroseris) are sturdy, rounded or boulder-like corals with a maze of small, tightly packed corallites. Underwater, they can appear as thick, living “mounds” that shelter tiny reef fish and invertebrates.
