Boulder Brain Coral [Colpophyllia]
Description
Boulder Brain Coral gets its name from the brain-like ridges and valleys that make up its surface. Divers may see it as a chunky, dome-shaped mound with maze-like grooves, often hosting tiny marine life in and around the structure. Depending on the species and location, it can range from muted browns to brighter tones under reef light.
