Soft Leather Corals [Xeniidae]

Description

Xeniids often look like smooth, fleshy patches or lobes on the reef, sometimes with a slightly wrinkled or velvety texture. Divers may notice their polyps protruding in tiny points or lines, giving the coral a dynamic, “alive” look as it feeds.
