Soft Corals [Nephtheidae]
Description
Nephtheids include many of the reef’s flexible, finger- or branching-form soft corals. Underwater, divers may observe their polyps extending to feed, creating a fuzzy or feathery appearance that contrasts with the coral’s tougher, tree-like skeleton.
