Echinometrid Sea Urchins [Echinometridae]
Description
Echinometridae sea urchins are sturdy reef dwellers with thick, often banded or vividly colored spines. Divers may spot them in crevices or on rocky areas, where they graze and help keep algae in check. When they move, their spines and tube feet create a slow, deliberate crawl across the reef.
