Jawed animals (a major group of predators) [Gnathostomata]
Description
This group includes many of the larger, more recognizable predators in the animal world, so divers may encounter them as active hunters rather than as tiny invertebrates. Depending on the habitat, you could see jawed predators cruising the reef, picking off prey, or patrolling along the bottom—often with purposeful, efficient movement.
