Walrus [Odobenus rosmarus]
Description
The walrus is a large marine mammal found in the Arctic Ocean and sub-Arctic seas. They are recognized by their long tusks, which can grow up to 1 meter in length. Both males and females have tusks. They use these tusks for fighting, dominance and display. The body shape of walruses is suited to cold environments, with a thick layer of blubber for insulation and uniquely designed flippers for swimming.
