Vanhoffen's lanternfish [Diaphus vanhoffeni]
Description
A deep-sea species found in the Indo-West Pacific region. It is a mesopelagic species, typically found at depths of 200 - 300m. Distinguished by its large eyes, and photophores that emit a blue-green light, which are used for communication and to attract prey.
