Tuxtla Shad [Dorosoma smithi]
Description
The Tuxtla Shad is native to Mexico, found in the Papaloapan River. They have a silver-blue coloration, a ventral keel from the throat to the base of the pelvic fins, and a relatively small mouth. They are known to consume zooplankton and phytoplankton.
