Thorntail Stingray [Bathytoshia matsubarai]
Description
The Thorntail Stingray is found in the northwestern Pacific Ocean off southern Japan and Korea. It is characterized by a broad, rounded disc, a long, whip-like tail and a unique arrangement of thorns on its tail. It is a bottom-dwelling species found in offshore waters.
