The Atlantic Blue Marlin [Makaira nigricans]
Description
The Atlantic Blue Marlin is the larger of the Marlin species, with females reaching lengths of 16 feet and weighing as much as 1,985 lbs. They have a cobalt-blue top and a silvery-white bottom. They have a streamlined, elongated body and a pointed bill. Atlantic Blue Marlins inhabit the Atlantic Ocean and are highly migratory species. They are popular among sport fishers for their beauty, size and challenging nature.
