Starry Cup Coral [Acanthastrea minuta]
Description
A. minuta is typically recognized by its smaller, closely packed corallites that create a fine, patterned look on the colony. When you swim in slowly, you can appreciate how the cups vary slightly in size and spacing, giving the coral a delicate, detailed surface. It’s a great coral to observe during calm dives, when you can focus on the small-scale reef architecture.
