Sponge-dwelling bryozoan [Dendricella tubulosa]
Description
Dendricella tubulosa is a bryozoan, or moss animal, known to inhabit marine sponges. It is characterized by its tubular zooids arranged in erect, tree-like colonies. It has a feeding apparatus, or lophophore, which extends to capture food particles. It is mainly found in the Mediterranean Sea and the Eastern Atlantic Ocean.
